Batam!!!
Saturday (06 Sept 2008)
Woke up cursing and swearing at the unearthly hour of 5.45am. Who wouldn't? Madness! Was still stoning when Felix & Cheryl picked me up. By the time we reached Harbourfront, I woke up immediately. Not at the excitement of leaving the country but due to the fact that the very clever me forgot her passport!!!!!! DAMN!!! How stupid can I be???
Thank God we were slightly early in our schedule but had to rush like mad back home to grab my passport. I had to sprint!!! Reached just in time.. Announcements over PA system with our names coz they were about to leave. P.S: We were not the last ones to board the ferry though. Hahaha.
Chatted throughout the ride. Cam-whoring the moment we reached. Hehe.
Hotel transfer came. Checked in, rested on bed to chat more. Roy's friend who stays in Batam brought us out for brekkie at 9.30am. Ate fried mee, fried kway teow and wanton noodles. All different from Singapore's. :p Delicious! I had an iced tea with without milk.
Wijoyo, Roy's friend, drove us around Batam showing us around. Very nice guy! Super friendly and Batam is so small that they all know one another. He shared with us some of the cultures and stories of Batam. Showed us the landmarks too. :) Real cool!!
Lunched at 1.30pm. Ate bak kut teh. The pig's organs and liver were really nice!!! Never had such tender and delicious ones before. Yummy!!! Headed back to hotel to rest after lunch and Cheryl fell asleep! Roy & I chatted about loads of stuff coz BS pulled out of the trip last minute and there were just 3 of us left.
Went for our spa appointment at 4.30pm. Wayyyyyy nice!!! The bath was good but massage wasn't hard enough so that wasn't too good. Enjoyed the whole experience though. More pics in my photo album though even more pics are taken with Roy's camera. Waiting for him to send to me. :p
Wijoyo and his fiancee, Tracy (who is pretty!!), brought us out for dinner at a very famous seafood restaurant. The food was sooo delicious and soooo cheap (Only S$10 per pax coz Wijoyo got a 20% discount)!! Woohoo!!!!!! I ate sooooooo much in a day that I could explode. ^.^ We had chilli crab, steamed garoupa, sambal kang kong, hot plate beancurd and fried calamari. I had an orange juice too. Roy was soooo amazed at my skills of eating the fish head and deboning it so clean that he was in awe. Hahaha.
Reached back hotel and Roy & I watched TV in his room (king sized bed all to himself!). Cheryl showered, joined us for a short while and headed to bed. Roy & I chatted for almost another hour, watched the 2nd half of Dreamgirls (we missed the 1st half due to chatting), fell asleep, woke up to watch, fell asleep again. Haha. This continued for half an hour for both of us til I couldn't take it and went back to sleep on my own bed (super single) at 12.30am. ("o")
Sunday (07 Sept 2008)
Woke up at 8.30am, washed up and went for brekkie buffet at hotel (Novotel). Ate a lot!!!!! Back to room. I tried to sleep but didn't manage to do too well. Cheryl played DS while Roy went to the gym. She took her beauty soak in the bath tub, Roy came back, I woke up. Crowded in Roy's room. They chatted while I occupied the whole bed to watch MTV. Haha.
Finally lazed around enough. Showered and checked out of hotel at 12.30pm. Nagoya Hill for lunch. Ate seafood again! Roy wanted to take pic of the fish head before and after. Hahaha. Ordered cereal prawn, baby kailan with oyster sauce, steamed garoupa and fried calamari. I had ice lemon tea. Finished everything!! And it's still cheap!! Still about S$10 per pax. Seafood's the way to go in Batam.
Godiva Coffee after lunch. Was ok... I had a caramel latte. :p Left for Harbourbay to catch our ferry back to Singapore after that. Early this time round coz we didn't wanna hear our names over the PA system again. Haha. Shopped at Polo Ralph and I bought a polo tee for myself for less than S$40 and it's real. :) My very 1st Polo Tee. WOOHOO!!! And it's cheap too! Haha.
Chatted with Roy again on the way back to Singapore. Vivo for dinner with Felix, Roy & Cheryl. Ate at Marche. Ordered too much!! Chicken chop with sausage, spanish rice, rosti with cheese sausage, vegetables and crepes. Had a root beer too. Sooo full!!!!
Home and went to Adrian's (my cousin) place for a while. Played with my niece and nephew for a while and now I'm home. Dead tired. Unpacked but yet to prepare for tomorrow. Oopsss..
Chatting with Roy and Cheryl over MSN now. We chat in the office everyday too! Endless things to talk about.. Haha. We're too talkative. :p Overall, enjoyed my Batam trip a lot though I didn't get to suntan at all. But it was still fun, nice and enjoyable. Thanks to Roy and Cheryl!!!
