Happy Birthday To Me!
31 Dec 2006: Here I am.. Stuck in my office on my birthday with the system being down!! God.. Playing tricks on me aye? Slept at 4.30am this morning and had to drag my butt off my ever so comfortable bed at 8.30am just to rush to office to finish my work and yet.. Sighz.. But amazingly, I'm not that tired so it's still alright. Got my forever needed good friend beside me every morning - COFFEE!! Haha. Yeah.. I'm such an addict that I get headaches at times when I'm too tired. :p
It's been a great week for me. Met up with Eugene on Wednesday for dinner after we lost touch and haven't met up since we graduated from college which was 6 years ago. Chatted and caught up on our lives after such a long time. :)

02 Jan 2007: Finally back to blogging. Went for dinner with Ow after work on Thursday night (28 Dec) which was ok. Haven't really eaten with him before. He's not the gentlemanly type but I didn't tell him that. Hehe. Shush...
My birthday celebrations sort of started on Friday night which was only 29th Dec. 2 days in advance. Haha. Received flowers from Tom which was delivered to office for me on that day. The pigs are cute right? :) And we finally told boss who my bf is. She was so shocked but she gave me her blessings which made me feel less guilty. Tom came to meet me for lunch and we ate at Sakae Sushi. been a long time since we last had lunch together on a weekday. Miss the good old days but no choice I guess.
After work on Friday, I had dinner with Felix, Ah Bee and Rachel at Geylang. Venue was decided by me coz I couldn't think of where else we can eat at. After dinner, we went to One Rochester for drinks. My 1st time there though I've always wanted to go for drinks at that place. I liked the ambience and atmosphere of the place. Was a nice night out though we were all feeling so tired. Haha.
The real celebrations came on 30th Dec. Suffered from headache again in the early afternoon though coz of the lack of sleep. Tom came with a tumbler of coffee which was the best cure! Hehe. We proceeded to Swensens to buy a birthday cake for my celebration at Celine's BBQ in the evening and I chose a Cookies n Cream ice cream cake. Started the 1st BBQ at Tom's place before heading over to Celine's place for her BBQ. The girls in office bought me story books for my bday and they managed to choose 2 books that I wanted. :p I even had 2 Sudoku books from both Bernicia and Basile. So sweet of Carissa's children. :)
Went back to Tom's house for more BBQ after Celine's place. Ate BBQ crabs, prawns and marshmellows. At 12 midnight, I started receiving calls and sms-es from friends and relatives wishing me a Happy Birthday. Xiao Liang called me at slightly past 12am from UK to wish me a Happy Birthday. Ali called me on 31st Dec too! From Abu Dhabi. So touched! Thanks guys! And not to forget Meng as well! ;) Played mahjong that night til about 4am which was why I slept at 4.30am.
Woke up at 8.30am to head to work. Had a pleasant surprise in office. Was struggling in office for a few hours and Yating volunteered to buy me lunch after her church service. She bought Hans steak for me but was so stressed that appetite wasn't really good. While I was on the phone, Yating, Lynn and Felix started singing Happy Birthday song with a cake! It was really a very very pleasant surprise and I was so touched that my tears nearly fell. I had no idea at all!! Really a BIG THANK YOU to the 3 of them for the very very memorable moment in my life. Don't think I can ever forget that. And also, thanx to Felix for a bouquet of roses. :)

Merry Christmas 2006!
December is my favourite month coz (1) it's Tom's bday, (2) it's Xmas, (3) it's our anniversary and most importantly (4) it's MY BDAY! Haha. I know some people do not like their bdays but I like mine. I don't usually organise dinners or bday party celebrations coz honestly, I'm too lazy to do it. :p But somehow, once it's nearing the date of my bday, I start getting excited about it like a small girl. :)
This year, I'll be in the office alone on the actual day of my bday coz stupid private banking side forced somebody from my team to be back for year end adjustments and that chosen person is me. Sighz.. No choice coz I'm the only one who knows how to do everything in my team, both record management stuff and reconciliation stuff. So, on my bday, I'll be back in office at 9am til the time I can finish my work. How sad.. Haha.
Been meeting up with friends recently. The most surprising one being Winston, my brother from JC. It's been years since I last heard from him or even saw him coz somehow he couldn't get my sms-es. How sad... But he sms-ed me 2 weeks back and we FINALLY met up for dinner after not seeing each other for 3 to 4 years! So much to catch up on but so little time as I finished work at 7.45pm and he had to pick his wife up at 8.30pm. Ya.. He's married!! So shocked to discover that but glad that he's happily settled down though there's differences between his wife and her family. Still happy for him and I'm sure he'll be able to work things out properly. :)
Met up with Zub as well coz he's back from New Zealand for Xmas. He's pretty much the same as before but he's only been gone for 6 months so how much can he change? Haha. Glad that he's enjoying what he's doing now. If you're doing something you really want and like, I'm sure you'll be happy.
Had Xmas celebration last night at Joy's place. Was quite fun sitting around, chatting and really just relaxing instead of simply chatting over lunch everyday at work. It's always nice to have gatherings like that. There's another one coming up at Celine's place on 30th Dec. Coincides with Tom's BBQ but I'll be attending both. Haha. How busy I am... Like real. :D
This year is the 1st time I ever gave Xmas presents to colleagues whom I'm close to and Tom's family. I've never really been someone who celebrates Xmas coz I was not brought up that way. My family's more Chinese-minded so Xmas has never been much of a big deal. But somehow, this year, I made my own Xmas more fun by buying gifts for my colleagues. It's actually quite enjoyable. Even Tom's dogs received presents from me. Haha. Makes me feel warm in my heart when I see everybody liking what I gave them. :)
Received several cards via slow mail from Winston (my bro), Von babe and as always, Xiao Liang. To Xiao Liang, I'm terribly sorry that I still didn't manage to send you a Xmas card coz I've been too tied up at work. Sighz.. Every year you never fail to send me a card from UK but me.. I've never been able to give you one for the last 3 years. I've failed as a friend.. :(
Will be meeting up with more friends next week. Looking forward to it coz I haven't met up with most people for quite some time now. Time to catch up on my life and with friends. :p Received quite a few nice Xmas and bday presents already. Thanks everybody!! *hugz*

Touched..
Been busy with work the whole week as both Carol & Joyce were on leave. Worst part was that I was down with flu.. AGAIN! Sucks.. Ever since I changed my seat in office, I've been coming down with flu every 2 months or so. So shitty. :( Anyway, I'm recovering now so it's ok.
I was really touched on Wednesday night when my flu was at the worst stage. Why? Coz Ting and Agnes actually bought dinner for me at 8pm, accompanied me to eat and waited for me to finish my work when they could have gone home already. And I worked til 10pm that night which means that they did nothing in the office for 2 whole hours! It's enough to make me feel really really touched. Agnes even gave me 2 massages that day coz I was so tired and so sick. Thanks dear! Will never forget that night.
Honestly, I'm blessed to have to such a good bunch of colleagues and friends. If I were to ever leave this company, I wonder if I can still find such caring people as colleagues. Though we may be crappy at times and be sarcastic to each other, we know it's all for fun. There's laughter in our department everyday by the stupid things we say or do and it makes the whole workplace so much more enjoyable. Today, I went for breakfast with my aunt before heading to office so I reached at 9am instead of 8.30am. Some of them were worried that I was sick or couldn't wake up and called my mobile to check on me. Touched once again.. :) Thank you girls for all the care and concern!!
Tom's on leave today and came to meet me for lunch at work. It's been so long since we had lunch together (Let's not talk about during the trip. We're talking about S'pore on a weekday). Gave him a small surprise at night when I requested to drive up to Mount Faber Hill Bistro for dinner. He wasn't expecting it but it was an early birthday dinner celebration for him. The only thing I was short of was his present coz I really have got no time at all to buy it and frankly, I have yet to figure out what to buy. Haha. But we had a great dinner and that's what counts for now.
Tomorrow I'll be watching Happy Feet with my cousins followed by dinner at my aunt's place. Sunday I'll be attending yet another wedding dinner. Busy weekend again. Sighz.. No quiet time of my own. Haha.
Oh ya, Meng & Ali, I've more or less decided on my trip to Dubai already. Likely to be last week of June and 1st week of July. Meng, can get me place to stay or can I stay with you? But my female cousin's coming with me. Hehe. You mind? Btw, we might be heading to Egypt on this trip as well. Yet to confirm on that though. We'll firm up things nearer the date ya? :)
